Recourse Allocation Matrix RAM

A Recourse Allocation Matrix for a project provides a great cost evaluation and a load balance on the organization according to the project planned stages.
Input to this process:
Organization Breakdown Structure
Work Breakdown Structure
If you have gone according to the instructions till now, it will be easy to build your project Recourse Allocation Matrix. The steps are the followings:
1. Draw the Organization Breakdown Structure to the left side of the chart with your OBS turned anti-clockwise 90 degrees (turned left wise).
2. The top horizontal header of the RAM will be the Stage Breakdown Structure.
3. Select every work package from the Work Breakdown Structure only once and drop it in the appropriate vertical stage of the project and in the specific horizontal organization-specific knowledge required to do the job described in the work package. Mark that work package as done.
4. The process ends when there are no unmarked work packages in your Work Breakdown Structure.
Using our tools will provide you with a RAM display immediately after you complete your Organization Breakdown Structure and Work Breakdown Structure charts.
5. At this stage you can sum vertically the cost of every stage and horizontally you can sum the cost of every department required in the project.
6. A more advanced report is load on every department at every stage of the project. This is done by analyzing the total amount vertically required at every stage. This specific information I used for load balance in the project life cycles and reduction of cost by better utilizing recourses in the project life cycle.
